We are “Daddy Daughter Cooking”, and when I say “we” I am referring to my lovely daughter and me, Dad.

Our story is a fairly simple and similar one… I’m a single father and she will always be my daughter.  We have been cooking together since she was about 4 years old.  It all started when I was prepping for a film set I was catering. She came into the kitchen wearing the Junior Chef outfit my mother bought for her the x-mas before, and wielding a spoon.  She was and is super cute.

We want to share our journey with you covering the things in our day-to-day lives.  The hope is that we relate to a lot of people out there. Not just single dads, but with parents and children alike.  This process is near and dear to our hearts and we hope to open communication through sharing our experiences in life, while cooking through ours.

Our time together is so very important.  I feel that so many of us parents/families have forgotten what it’s like to be kids.  We had in the kitchen as kids with different family members;  Grandmas, Moms, Great Grandmas, Nanas, Uncles, Cousins, Brothers, Sisters and everyone else we welcomed into our home!

Whether you have realized it or not, the process of cooking, and it can be a process, is, for lack of a better word, AWESOME!  This “PROCESS”, subtly taught my daughter and I patience,  and how to work together.  We continue to learn better communication skills, timing, the ability to articulate, measurements, and one of the most important skill sets to feed yourself and others. You will also have a better understanding of what is going into your bodies.

Our goal is to bring families, friends, and in general, all people closer together through cooking.  There really isn’t another place quite like the kitchen.  Human kind needs to be reminded that we have time to cook!

As a Daddy and Daughter combo, we know that the only two requirements for your success are:  The willingness to spend time together and a little planning at the grocery store.
